TD Waterhouse
Brief:
TD Waterhouse is one of the UK's largest discount brokers, providing investors with access to UK and International equities, bonds, funds and covered warrants, through a range of trading and tax efficient accounts.
It also offers a wealth of information including real time stock quotes, news, and research tools from some of the world's leading providers.
TD Waterhouse's previous consumer-facing website had been developed in-house in conjunction with their secure online trading service. It was felt that this arrangement was too constraining for the marketing function of the site and opportunities were being lost due to the fact there was no mechanism in place for quick responses to market or product changes.
What was required, therefore, was a public website independent from the online trading system that would enhance the brand and its marketing capability, and could be easily and quickly updated.
Solution:
Working closely with the TD Waterhouse’s marketing team and in-house developers, Netstep comprehensively redesigned the public-facing website.
The new site is now more marketing focused and easier to navigate. It provides visitors with direct access to prices and news stories from the home page and allows journalists to download company information, images and press releases from the Press Centre. Using Netstep’s bespoke content management system, daily updates are now a quick and simple procedure. The site has also been constructed to make it far more search-engine friendly.
TD Waterhouse has also engaged Netstep's consultancy and marketing services to address website intelligence. Optimisation of calls to action and the implementation of a very successful Search Engine Optimisation programme. Netstep's banner ad creatives (in Flash and .gif format) have also proved highly effective.
